Strength is a status effect which increases attack power.
- 4Data values
When consumed Strength Potion II (1:30) will make the players attacks stronger for 1 minute 30 seconds. Added a bow damage calculator incl. Archery potion and bow enchants / reforges. If anything is far off please tell me, but if it is just 2 or 3 damage points it is probably just the calculation of the Snipe enchantment for more than one arrow.
Effect[edit]
Increases melee damage by 3 × level in Java Edition. Negative levels decrease melee damage, with attacks being ignored entirely if damage would be 0 or lower.
In Bedrock Edition, melee damage under the effect strength level x can be found by the recursive formula
damage(x) = floor(damage(x – 1) × 1.3 + 1)
where damage(x)
at (x = 0)
is the base attack damage with whatever weapon or tool is used to attack, and damage(x)
is rounded down to the nearest integer with each recursion.[1]This Minecraft tutorial explains how to craft a Potion of Harming (Instant Damage) with screenshots and step-by-step instructions. In Minecraft, you can brew a Potion of Harming (Instant Damage) and add it to your inventory. When this potion is drank, it will give you the Instant Damage effect and immediately cause 6 points of damage to your health. Strength can now be obtained from potions and splash potions of strength. Zombie villagers now gain strength when being cured. Added the Arrow of Strength, which grants strength. Strength can now be gained from beacons. Strength can now be obtained from lingering potions of strength. Changed effect icon texture. Apr 12, 2014 Strength does indeed apply as the Minecraft Tooltip shows: +130% for Strength I, +260% for Strength II, etc. Here is where my math differs from TheMasterCaver, as I treat the addition of percentages with the base of 100%, meaning Strength I does 230% damage, and Strength II does 360% damage.

Required Materials to make this Potion
In Minecraft, these are the materials materials you can use to craft a Potion of Strength (3:00):
How to craft this Potion in Survival Mode
1. Open the Brewing Stand menu
First, open your brewing stand so that you have the Brewing Stand menu that looks like this:
2. Add Blaze Powder to Activate the Brewing Stand
Start by adding blaze powder in the far left box to activate the brewing stand.
3. Add Items to make this Potion
In the Brewing Stand menu, you place ingredients in the top box and the potions are created in the bottom three boxes.
To make a Potion of Strength (3:00), you will need 1 water bottle, 1 nether wart, and 1 blaze powder.
Add the Water Bottle
First, place the water bottle in one of the bottom boxes in the Brewing Stand menu.
TIP: You can make up to 3 potions at a time by adding 3 water bottles to the Brewing Stand.
Add the Nether Wart
Next, add the nether wart to the top box in the Brewing Stand menu.
You will know that the brewing process has begun because the bubbles will turn white and the arrow will turn white to show the progress. Once the brewing is done, the nether wart will disappear.
At this point, your bottle will contain an Awkward Potion which has no effects.
Add the Blaze Powder
Next, add the blaze powder to the top box in the Brewing Stand menu.
Once the brewing process is complete, you will hear a 'glug glug glug' sound and the blaze powder will disappear. The Potion of Strength (3:00) will now be finished.
TIP: If you hover over the potion in the Brewing Stand, you will see the name of the potion and its effects.
Your bottle will now contain a Potion of Strength (3:00).
If you drink the Potion of Strength (3:00), it will improve your strength and give you a +130% increase in attack damage for 3 minutes.
At this point, you can add this Potion of Strength (3:00) to your inventory or you can continue and turn the potion into a Splash Potion of Strength (2:15).
